Head-to-Head League Rules

DRAFT

It’s that time of year again, another football season is upon us. The “live” draft will be held during August, in a chat room on this site. Date and time to be determined by the participants and the commissioner. The draft order will be the reverse of last season's finishing order. Draft order will stay the same each round, there will be enough rounds to fill out a 13 player roster. You may draft a player from any position at any time, although any player may be drafted only once per league. Cheat sheets will be provided if needed.

ROSTERS

Each team will have 13 roster spots, 12 position players and 1 team defense & special team. You must carry at least enough players at each position to start. Your starting line-up will consist of 1 quarterback, 2 runningbacks, 3 receivers, 1 place kicker and 1 defense. Your other five roster spots may be any position you desire. Starting line-ups can be reported to the league office any time before kickoff each Sunday morning. If line-ups are not in by this deadline, your line-up from the previous week will be used. In the event of Thursday or Saturday games, any players on your roster playing in these games must be reported as starter or non-starter prior to these games starting, or those players will be the same as they were the previous week.

SCORING

Each week, the total points of your starting line-up will be compared to that of your opponent to determine if you’ve won or lost. In the event of a tie, the total points from all players on each team’s rosters will be compared to determine the winner. You will receive points for the following:

TRANSACTIONS

Each team may make one trade and/or one free agent pick-up per week. All transactions must be reported by 10:00 P.M. MST Wednesday night of each week to take affect for your next game. A free agent is any NFL player not on any roster in your league. When you acquire a free agent, you must drop a player from your roster, or place a player on injured reserve, to meet the active roster requirement of 13 players, If more than one team requests the same free agent, the team with the worst record will get that free agent. If there is still a tie, the player will go to the team with the lowest season point total. You may want to request a couple backup free agent choices, just in case you don't get your first free agent choice.

You may make multiple player and/or multiple team trades, so long as you have 13 players on your active roster when transactions are complete, even if you have to pick up a free agent or drop a player. All teams involved in a trade must report it before it can take affect. The trade deadline is week 9, no trades can be made after that, but you may still pick up free agents untill the end of the regular season. All trades are subject to league approval.

In the event that your kicker or defense has a bye, you may pick up a free agent kicker or defense to use for that week only. Once again, you may want to list a couple replacements, in case you don't get your first choice. The replacement kicker or defense will be awarded on a first come-first served basis. The following week, your original kicker or defense will automatically be re-inserted into your line-up. This will not count as a transaction.

INJURED RESERVE

Each team will have one injured reserve spot to place a player on. This spot will not count as one of your 13 active roster spots. You may only place a player on IR if they are listed as doubtful or worse. You may not place a player on IR if they are going into a bye week, regardless. If you place a player on IR, who then plays in the following week, you still lose the eligibility of that player for that week. However, he must come off IR during the following transaction period. You must decide how to bring your roster into compliance, or if you do not, the free agent you acquired when you placed the player on IR will be automatically dropped.
The final opportunity for the season to acquire free agents will be the wednesday prior to week 13.
Playoff exception - Playoff teams will have one opportunity during the playoffs to acquire a free agent, but only to replace an injured player, by either dropping that player or placing him on IR. Again, you may only place a player on IR if they are listed as doubtful or worse. However, that player will have to remain on IR for the duration of the playoffs, even if he plays. Meaning you will lose his eligibility for the remainder of the playoffs.
